Red Flag Weather Conditions

September 8, 2022. Swisshome-Deadwood RFPD was notified today that our area will be entering red flag weather conditions starting Friday September 9th. This means high temperatures and high winds will be present and could create dangerous fire conditions. Effective immediately our region will be at an extreme fire danger level.  The Oregon Department of Forestry is forecasting easterly winds and low humidity during this time. Swisshome-Deadwood RFPD will be following Oregon Department of Forestry Extreme fire danger recommendations and Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) 3 starting September 8, 2022, through the weekend with a strong likelihood the fire danger may be reduced to high on Monday September 12th, 2022. Additionally, Oregon State Parks will have a campground ban on fires during this time. A list of fire restrictions may be found on the ODF website at  www.oregon.gov/odf/fire/Pages/restrictions.aspx
